Richa Chadda, The Bollywood actress who made her debut with the movie Oye

Lucky! Lucky Oye! In 2008 was appreciated for her acting. Her performance in

the 2012 crime films Gangs of Wasseypur – Part 1 and Part 2, won her huge

appraisal and for which she also received Filmfare critics award for best actress.

Biography

Richa Chadha was born on 18th December, 1988 in Delhi to a Punjabi Hindu father

And a Bihari mother. She did her schooling from Sardar Patel Vidyalaya in 2002

and completed her graduation with Bachelors in History from St. Stephen’s

College, Delhi. After which she choose to do PG Diploma in Social

Communication Media from Sophia College, Mumbai.

The gorgeous lady began her career with modeling and then decided to do theatre.

During this time she was assigned for

Her first film Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye! which released in 2009. She then went on to

another movie that leads her to success, she played the role of Nagma Khatoon in

Anurag Kashyap’s crime drama Gangs of Wasseypur – Part 1 and Part 2 which

received amazing appreciation by critics and won her fame.

Her next release was with Mrighdeep Singh Lamba’s comedy-drama film Fukrey,

in which she played a role of female- don Bholi Punjaban and won Best

Performance in a Comic Role in Screen Awards 2014. Later, she was part of

Sanjay Leela Bhansali ‘s movie Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela in a supporting

Role as Rasila. She was appraised for this role too.

Later in 2014, she played a role of Babu, a criminal in Navneet Behal’s film

Tamanchey but, unfortunately, this film did not receive good reviews. But then the

Lady was back with a bang in Masai in 2015. Masaan was highly acknowledged

By the viewers and critics and it also won two awards. She then starred in a biopic

of Charles Sobhraj, Main Aur Charles.

In 2016, she is filming for Aur Devdas, which is a version of the Devdas saga by

Sudhir Mishra and also on Pooja Bhatt’s film Cabaret as the main lead. She will

also, be seen in Omung Kumar’s film Sarbjit which is a biopic on the life of Sarabjit

Singh.

AWARDS

In the year 2013, She won Filmfare award in the best actress (critics) category for

her role in Gangs of Wasseypur.

In 2014, she won the award for best actress in the comic role for her role in Fukrey.

In 2015, she won Editor’s Choice Performer of the Year for her fantabulous role in

Masaan.
